Inspired by fellow photojournalists, we wanted to create a backpack that fit our needs of being versatile & unobtrusive. We obsessed over every detail, utilizing the best materials and hardware. We worked with photographers in the field, refining prototypes, to ultimately create Backpack A1.
It’s lightweight, has great construction, and so well thought out for exactly what a working Photojournalist needs in the age of mirrorless cameras. The minimalist design, and the functionality are perfect for breaking news.
Our journey began in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, as the world hit pause we sought a project that would not only keep us creatively engaged but also addressed a pressing need for photojournalists, a high quality and endlessly adaptable carry solution. Inspired by the needs of fellow photojournalists and the desire to elevate their experiences, the idea of Cutline was born.
After a year making prototypes in our basement in Hudson, NY, we sought out the best bag makers in Montana and Indonesia to continue a two year process of refining and testing to bring you a bag that won’t stand in the way of capturing every moment.
At Cutline, we believe in fostering a community that shares your passion for storytelling. As we continue to grow and evolve, we invite you to be a part of our journey. Your experiences and insights will shape the future of our products, allowing us to constantly improve and innovate, follow us on social media to share how you carry with Cutline.
This bag is the best of both worlds: you can use it as a camera bag, a regular bag, or a mixture of the two without it being gigantic and clunky. Great construction, fair price and it’s a good looking bag to boot. It also doesn’t look like a camera bag, which is perfect for street photography or traveling.
